>> Open Summer Cart admin panel

>> Go to the Settings menu, under 'Store Configuration' click on Security link.

After uploading the Summer Cart store on a web server of your choice, you may opt for a secure SSL connection between your store and your clients.

What is SSL?

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a security protocol, used for exchanging sensitive information between your  website and the computer communicating with it, referred to as the client.

SSL technology is embedded in all popular browsers and engages automatically when the user connects to a web server that is SSL-enabled. It's easy to tell when a server is using SSL security because the address in the URL window of your browser will start with https. The "s" indicates a secure connection.

Usually browsers indicate that the connection is secure by showing yellow padlock or similar graphic.

Password encryption

All passwords – client's and administrator's – can be hashed (encrypted) one-way with an extremely secure method, using „salted“ HMAC-SHA1 algorithm.
